Send a Special Message In Your Bouquet

The language of flowers has been around for centuries, as many young lovers looked for ways to communicate without having to write letters or actually meet in person to express feelings. Each and every bloom has an assigned meaning or significance when given to someone special, either alone or in combination with other flowers. Many people, throughout the years, have even written entire love letters in the language of flowers by using specific combinations of flowers in an arrangement.

This Valentine’s Day, if you want to give your special someone something truly wonderful, consider communicating in the language of flowers with your loved one by sending bouquets that include some of these blooms with a special meaning:

Baby’s Breath: purity, innocence, pure of heart.

Camellia: There are a variety of meanings depending on color. Red for excellence. White means adorable and lovely. Pink for “I long for your touch.” Blue means “You are the flame in my heart.”

Carnations: Fascination, admiration, pure love, and “My heart yearns for you.”

Daisy: Cheerfulness, “You’re a wonderful friend”, loveliness, optimism, and abundance.

Forget-Me-Nots: faithful, undying love, “Do not forget”, and memories.

Iris: “Your friendship means the world to me”, faith, hope, and beauty.

Lily of The Valley: Sweetness, “You complete my life”, and the return of happiness.

Orchid: Love, beauty, refinement, and exotic.

Peonies: Happy marriage and prosperity. In China, the word for peony is sho yu meaning “most beautiful”.

Roses: All roses represent love, though each color sends a different message. Red means love, respect, courage. Pink means grace, perfect happiness. Dark pink means gratitude. Light pink means admiration, sympathy. White means innocence, purity, secrecy, “I’m worthy of you” and “You’re heavenly”. Yellow means platonic love or friendship. Orange means passion, desire. Blue means extraordinary, mystery. Red and White means unity.

Sunflowers: Adoration, pride, and of course, sunshine!
